Walt Disney Company announced last Thursday that it would be looking to create applications for all its latest TV shows, games, videos, interactive books you name it in the near future.
For iPad users around 20 or more Disney shows hosted on ABC will be available to usres via Wi-Fi. Users are also going to be given the added incentive of buying episodes via iTunes.
Disney is really looking to expend its use of applications and the Disney Publishing Worldwide business unit has created two apps for the ‘Toy Story’ movie franchise. Allowing children to sing along, read, and interact with different features online.
Disney’s new ‘Tech’ Cruise Line
According to the latest reports, Disney’s Imagineering test labs is about to reveal some new technological advancements for passengers on their cruise line come early 2011. The latest addition to the Disney Cruise line fleet, ‘Disney Dream’ will set sail from Florida, the home of Disney world Orlando.
At the Imagineering centre, Disney’s finest work on a variety of projects designed to enhance and improve the visitor experience for rides, theme parks and shows.
As seen above one of the latest inventions by the Disney tech teams is the new ‘virtual’ porthole. So passengers with cabin’s on the inside now have the pleasure of a virtual sea view. A nice touch by Disney. The images will be streamed live via high resolution digital cameras positioned around the ship, so passengers will always have an idea of what the weather is like outside!
The experience also allows for the many Disney cartoon characters to pop up on the screen throughout a journey.
