Disney Cruise Line - Destinations guide

Bahamas

We have all seen James Bond and his frequent trips to Nassau in the Bahamas, now you can live that experience too. Either setting sail from Port Canaveral in Florida as part of a short 3, 4 or 5 night Bahamian cruise visiting Disney's own exclusive 'Castaway Cay' or you can start your journey as part of a Transatlantic cruise from Dover in the south of England ending up in the Bahamas, the choice is yours. There is plenty to see on the Bahamas ranging from the colonial buildings that once were the seat of power for the island to the pristine beaches which offer the keen swimmer the chance to snorkel, sail or even sun bathe.

Caribbean

So many great ports of call, from Key West Florida, St. Croix US Virgin Islands, Grand Cayman, Tortola, St Thomas/ St John, Cozumel in Mexico the list goes on. Normally a 7 night cruise designed to give you a fully relaxing tour of some of the most beautiful and exotic beaches, ports and waters the Caribbean has to offer. The Caribbean Sea tends to be warm so ideal for swimming. Shoppers and sightseeing a plenty on this trip, as the cruise stops at each port one day after another and Disney Cruise line can help you organise shore excursions and there is plenty of advice on board.

European

The British love sailing and Walt Disney Cruise line offers a Dover to Barcelona 8 night cruise that is fairly reasonable it has to be said. Ports include, Cherbourg, Lisbon, Cadiz, Gibraltar, and unlike other major tour or cruise operators, Disney caters for the children and younger age groups which is ideal when you are taking a family holiday. At each port you can disembark and make the most of the local excursions and sightseeing. From Cathedrals, to ruins to historical buildings there is plenty to see throughout this action packed week away. Next available date is July 2010, but it is always worth searching online to see what other dates and special offers you can find. Alternatively you could start in Barcelona and end up in Dover, so really the itinerary is flexible to your needs.

There is the option of an 11 night Mediterranean cruise on board Disney Magic that sets sail from Barcelona in Spain and the destinations include Corsica, Naples in Italy, Tunis in Tunisia, Valletta in Malta, Monte Carlo, Nice, Cannes etc all in France.

Transatlantic

One of the great aspects of a vacation Cruising on the high seas is the excitement of a Transatlantic crossing. The cruise is unique in itself as it offers travellers the opportunity to feel and breathe salty sea air, in miles upon miles of water in the peace and tranquillity of nature. 14 nights is the duration and guests can travel East or West from either the US to Europe or Europe to the US. Set sail from Barcelona in Spain, calling at Gibraltar, Madeira in Portugal, St Maarten Dutch Antilles, Tortola, Castaway Cay in the Bahamas and finally Port Canaveral in Florida. It is actually a very good crossing and selection of ports given the rich and vibrant history but also the variety of sights on offer. The next available date is September 2010 so it is worth planning well in advance for a 2 week get away.
