As with any home rental if you're looking for a week or two stay you will probably need to book well in advance as they can get busy depending on the time of the year. Everything in America is big even the houses, so don't be surprised if you rent a four bedroom house that it comes with a swimming pool (always make sure children are supervised) and is typically three or four times the size of the normal house back home.
There are a whole host of options when you book, ranging from the size of the accommodation, internet connection, TV/ DVDs, air conditioning, microwave, oven, fridge/ freezer, iron, linens & towels, telephone. The list goes on and generally the rentals are well managed.

It is quite normal for smoking within the villas/ properties to be prohibited and some owners don't always like visitors using the BBQs. If you rent a car too, most homes have parking spaces. However, the garages can sometimes be shut off due to home owners storing their equipment. Liability and insurance: you may need to read up on this too as most rental companies will not accept any liability if you have an accident or break something. So you should always ensure you have insurance cover.
