Gatorland Theme Park Florida

A 110 acre classroom providing educational programmes on Crocodilians, Wading Birds, Snakes and Florida Swamplands then throw in a few shows, fun areas and some adventure tours for "Orlando's best half-day attraction" of Old Florida. Gatorland was opened in 1950 and has a special license to breed alligator's for their hides and for the meat.


Gatorland provides a natural alternative to the modern day theme park at the 'Alligator Capital of the World'. There are no special effects, roller coasters or water rides just plan crocs with the possibility of you becoming their trainer for the day.


Open daily in nearly all weather from 9 am till 5 pm. The show-time on your ticket can not be exchanged so organize your visit around it.

Pearl's Smokehouse:

For gator nuggets and ribs with barbecue sauce or standard fare such as hamburgers or chicken.

Gatorland Snackbar.

Wraps, sandwiches, hotdogs and ice creams, etc.

Parking is free.

From Orlando take Interstate 4 to FL 528 - Beeline Highway exit #72. Join FL 441 - Orange Blossom Trail and Gatorland is about 5 miles away between Osceola Parkway and FL 417 -Central Florida Way. Gatorland is on the left after the Hunters Creek subdivision.

Adventure Tours:

Adventure Hour.

A behind the scenes tour of Gatorland Breeding Marsh home for hundreds of hungry jaw-snapping alligators.


Gator Night Shine:

Join your guide along the wooden walkway - the Gatorland Breeding Marsh - and note the many pairs of cats eyes watching you or could they be alligators?


Rookie Wrestling:

Climb into the Gator Wrestlin' Arena and cuddle up close to one of the 8 foot long alligators.


Trainer for a Day.

An interaction with the alligators which includes wrangling when maybe the big fella can wait till another time! You will assist the trainer in daily chores but there could always be the unexpected event?

Shows.

Critters on the Go:

Provides opportunities to meet some of the cute and cuddly animals as you wonder around the park - so like the alligator keep one eye open!


Gator Jumparoo Show:

Watch the demonstration of the large and powerful alligators jumping out of the water to get to the food.


Gator Wrestling Show:

In an 800 seat stadium wranglers engage in a contest with 6-8 foot long alligators.


Upclose Encounters Show:

Meet fascinating creatures from around the world including some rather dangerous snakes.

The Park:

Allie's Barnyard:

Say hello to some cute and cuddle barnyard critters such as a macaw, goat and llama.


Alligator Island:

Located in the northern part of Gator Lake is the home of hundreds of the parks largest alligators and crocodiles where you can take a close look.


Breeding Marsh & Bird Rookery:

The 10 acre Gatorland Breeding Marsh contains over 100 adult alligators with females out numbering the males 3:1 in a completely natural environment. The bird rookery is also found here with over 4,000 birds making this their home every year.


Entrance & Gift Shop:

More than 19,000 square feet of retail space as well as provision for meetings and office space along with an open-air admissions pavilion. Just the job for a business conference centre and we know where the troublesome employees will finish up!


Express Railroad:

A new express train was introduced in 2000 which takes you on a tour of the southern area of the park for a close view of the alligators and other animal displays.


Flamingo Lagoon:

Near the Very Merry Aviary and Allie's Barnyard is found this home to a small colony of American Flamingos.


Gator Gully Splash Park:

Water sources designed around the parks inhabitants for use to cool a little or just get plain wet!


Jungle Crocs:

See the jaw dropping power of the great crocs as they at times barely move except for the extremely slow opening of an eye before unleashing their tremendous force.


Snakes of Florida:

A fascinating variety of snakes for you to view and wonder whether they are dangerous or not?


Swamp Walk:

A self-guided tour through an unspoiled Cypress Swamp found at the southern part of the park.


Very Merry Aviary:

Visit the colourful and friendly lorikeet parrots and provide a shoulder for them to fly on!
