| Typhoon Lagoon Water Park - Walt Disney World Florida |
|
The theme for this water park in Walt Disney World Florida is that of a small resort town after being hit by an enormous storm! It is mainly a surf lagoon covering an area of roughly 2 sports fields complete with 5 foot high waves and of course a number of slides. The intensity of the waves alternates every hour between gentle and surf intensive.
You could be speeding down at 30mph on Humunga Kowabunga from 100 feet up the mountain or spinning through 400 plus feet of Crush 'n Gusher.
If you need to check the time then look towards the marooned shrimp boat on top of the mountain which every 30 minutes shoots jets of water some 50 feet in the air while also sounding its horn.
At present the water parks participate in Disney's Extra Magic Hours but it is normally open daily from 10am till 5 pm. An admission fee is charged.
Typhoon Lagoon is located near Downtown Disney and accessed by Disney Bus from TTC (Transport & Tickets Centre) and most WDW Resorts.
